| Category | Description |
| Games | This category includes any types of QuickBasic and VisualBasic games. These will be judged under the most criteria of any of the categories, so the files must be more in-depth having interactivity and some kind of purpose for the player to accomplish. |
| Graphics | This category includes any files that showcase graphics to let other programmers know what is graphically possible to achieve in QuickBasic and VisualBasic. They can be demos with or without interaction, but interaction does greatly add to the fun of viewing them. |
| Sound | This category includes any files that showcase audio to let other programmers know what is aurally possible to achieve in QuickBasic and VisualBasic. They can be demos with or without interaction, but interaction does greatly add to the fun of viewing them. |
| Utilities | This category includes stand-alone program or libraries that are used as tools to help the programmer create a better program in less time. |
| Miscellaneous | This category includes anything that does not fit into the other categories. No programs to harm the computers of others will be accepted. |
